Legislative Wrap Up

On Wednesday, May 19th, 2008, the Camp Springs Civic Association hosted the 2008 Legislative Wrap Up for Districts 25 and 26.   Senator C. Anthony Muse, Delegates Jay Walker, Veronica Turner and Kris Valderrama attended for legislative district 26.  Senator Ulysses Currie attended representing legislative district 25 along and Council Member Tony Knotts from district 8 who was also there.  Residents came with plenty of questions and concerns.  The Legislative Wrap Up is hosted every spring by the CSCA where citizens get the opportunity to ask their state representatives legislation that has a direct impact on Camp Springs and the community at large.  The Maryland State legislative season starts in January and ends in April.  This season also included a special session that took place this past fall to address the state’s budget shortfall.  Issues regarding slots and group homes were a hot topic.  More coming soon.............

As you have seen on the news, 5 homes on Yorkville Road in Camp Springs have been deamed unsafe for habitation due to the massive sink hole along the back of the homes.  .....update coming soon.
